Default How to clean shaker

How do you clean the part of the shaker that sticks up out of the hood. It seems to be fading.

Don't have one, but I would think that Mothers Back to Black would work nicely......

No back to black won't work. It's metal. I noticed mine starting to look a little grey as well. I was thinking about just having it repainted flat black or something...

back to black does inded work on any black surface. I have used it on black aluminum trim with good sucess... but its temporary.. it will come back.. Painting it is the best long term answer

Is it hard coat anodizined?
Getting paint to stick to
aluminum is a tough thing.
Repainted plenty of outboard
motor lower ends to know.
It takes special aluminum primer
to get it to stick. We used OMC
supplied primer.

It's not aluminum, it's pot metal like the old days...

Acrylic Enamel (with catalyst) semigloss black is the way to go as far as paint.
The original black is nothing but cheap lacquer, that's why it's fading so quick.
I resprayed mine right away before I even installed it. Looks new still.
Experience was on my side there...
