Why does aftermarket always=headache?
I also agree about mods. I did the basics: gears, cai/tune, udp's axlebacks, basic LCA's (120 buck GT500 ones) I'm done. No appearance mods fro me b/c I like the stock look, plus my car's a toy that might see track time twice a year, so the car's more than enough for the street. Spending more to me is not worth the money, or the headaches and BS that comes with it
the factory antenna bothers the hell out of me, i have to remove it every time i put the cover on. i want to get one of those embedded windshield antenna but that requires breaking the factory seal on the windshield and opening up a whole other can of worms!
I replaced mine with a billet shorty antenna. The material the antenna is made out of will determine it's strength. Was yours spun aluminum or spring steel? If so, both of those bend easily. Billet is much stronger, and the only one worth buying.
if I do replace mine, I'll get that billet one just for the looks, otherwise, I have no problem with the stock RC antenna.
honestly though, why would anyone even call an antenna swap a "mod"? anything that takes less than 5 minutes to install, should not be considered a mod.
