Plus, ESP's can be financed. It is easier for someone that works hard every day on a limited amount of income to afford 60-80 bucks a month compared to a $1800 repair.
I have to disagree. By the time you pay all of that financing, you may have easily paid much more for the warranty than a repair bill. Plus you pay that whether you file a warranty claim or not.

If someone is really worried about a repair bill, squirrel away the 60-80 bucks in a savings account. In short time, you'd have enough to cover a large repair bill if needed. If you don't need it, you're still sitting on a nice chunk of change that you would have lost otherwise.

That's not often the case, and even at 0% you can pay more for the warranty than any claims you may file. Extended warranties are available for a reason, and that reason is to provide more money for the warranty provider. There really are much better alternatives to an extended warranty, such as I explained earlier.

Opinions vary, and its your money. Spend it as you wish though!
