Mustang + V8 + SNOW?
i have no clue how people can make it around with the stock rubber in the snow.
I have issues with less than 2 inches.
This will be the first winter where i have a 4x4 to use instead of the stang

I drove mine last winter, with 200 lbs of sand and a set of snow tires, it was GREAT. Traction wasnt bad but once you got into some rutts that were deaper than 6" i was worried about bottoming out. So if it ever snowed more than 3 inches, i rode w/ a friend. Even after all i said about how good it was in the snow. I bought a winter beater because i dont want to put it through the salt. -Jon
I drove mine one winter on the stock Pirelli's, and had no problems.
But I grewup driving RWD cars in the snow, and have had over 30yrs doing it.
Rust could be an issue if where you live uses alot of salt, but if you wash it regularly, you can minimize that.
If you are not used to RWD in the snow, do like others have said and buy a beater, and park the Mustang.

I'm with the other old guys. Learned to drive in upstate NY in the 70's; lots of snow. I drove a '70 Torino Cobra - 429, 4 speed, power nothing. We switched to bias ply snows in the winter. It's just a new skill set you need to take time to learn.
The down side of that was everything rusted out in 10 years. By 20 years, the car was about to fall apart from all the rust.

+1 I lived 17 years in Syracuse, NY... my 1st cars up there were RWD, and never 1 accident and at 16-17 years old I did pretty good... but I got a truck now and the stang stays parked...
My stock perelli's (hope i spelled that right) hold up pretty good!! Just turn on traction control and you should be alright!! tested out the TCS this past winter in the snow and "hey it does work"!! But a computer cant do everything for you so just take it easy on the throttle!!
My 06 GT only sees snow and rain when it looks out of the garage window. I have a 91 Toyota 4x4 for commuting, the problem with snow is no matter how careful you are, some moron will find you and run into you!!
HA HA HA
I AM CANADIAN up here its winter 9 months of the year..... ok not that much but I drive my stang year round and I personally belive RWD IS BETTER THEN FWD IN THE SNOW/ ICE! and as far as TCS SHUT IT OFF! learn how to drive the car in the parking lot with sheet ice get a feel for the slide.. we have posi.. both tires spin... and remember even if your rear tires are spining your front tires can still steer and also that if your brakes are locked you cant steer. your tires need to be rolling to steer. example get rolling and slam on the brakes and turn your wheel... you'll keep going forward. now do the same only slightly touch your brakes and slowly steer the wheels and watch it turn. the stock tires work but i would only recomend it for "occasional snow storms" and if you actually have a winter get winter tires.... duh put them on cheap steel wheels and change them yourself as required... thousand dollar investment to safety. i get about 3 - 4 years from my winter tires... if it is above 0 celcius (freezing point) put your summers on and vice verca. otherwise you will prematurely wear your winter tires. also wash your car every week and concintrate on under the car aswel to get the salt off... or you can get the electromagnetic field into your car that prevents rust from salt. (really it works)
or get a pos beater... personally i cant live without my stang and besides it WILL make you a better driver. and TCS is for crap drivers.... its called throttle control and clutch
