Im stuck.

Reasons to buy a beater car
-my car is drive by wire, its touchy
-dont want a rustang to happen
-my GT is RWD
-other idiots may wreck into me

Reasons to not get a beater
-more money out of pocket
-beater may break down, causing even more money

well rustang is avoidable, accidents sorta... be a DEFENSIVE DRIVER.
I am a proffesional driver instructor teaching police officers, firefighters, and paramedics, and drive my stang year round.... Part of my pride... just follow my last post and you should be ok.
CHAINS ONLY FOR TRUCKS SLOW AND IN DEEP DEEP SNOW otherwise maybe studded if your local laws allow and otherwise ......LEARN HOW TO DRIVE

Two Chicago winters here, including two 6+ inch snowstorms. A Mustang GT wouldn't be my first choice for driving in snow, but I've handled it fine with some snow tires and some careful driving.

Just plan on driving a little slower than everyone else, and screw the AWD cars that will get on your ***, because they will probably slide into a ditch up the road after they realize AWD doesn't help when they're trying to brake.

Default Mustang in snow

I've driven my '06 GT in 3 winters with no big problems. This winter I plan to increase my odds even further with a set of 4 Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3 D winter tires. As somebody earlier said, tires are everything.
