Quick question about installing XM radio...
#2
I used a P.I.E. converter that added an accessory plug to the stock radio, but after 6 months, it died. I have one on my Explorer for a couple years now with no problem...
Anyway, I should be receiving my new Pioneer 8000 that a lot of guys here have bought, and it has inputs to attach accessories, and I hear sounds better than the stock shaker 500. I can't wait to get installed! $250 from Amazon, but also had another 30 or so for harness and install kit.

I have Sirius, but also used a PIE adaptor. I ordered a VSM (Vehicle Specific Mount) from Pro.fit (www.pro-fit.intl.com). Everything works great and the sound is way better than using the supplied antenna and FM tuner.
Not a great pic, but here's the mount. The PIE adaptor is under the heating/ac dials in the dash, just forward of the center console. Very well hidden and I can adjust the rca inputs if the volume would ever need adjusting.

Toybob not to break away from the subject but your sig is huge... theres a specific size limit on here... I dont mind it but got my feelings hurt from the mods a couple times from having a bigger than allowed one...
