Quarter Window louver Shopping. Need REAL help.
I am going to replace my Xenon window louvers.
The paint started chipping after a year and a half and Xenon is not
standing by their paint work.
What's more... bad luck wise I guess, there are hundreds of tiny scratches
around my window area of the the paint job now where the louvers used to be.
I am going to take it to my brother's tommorrow (dealership).
Luckily there is a guy that does favors for me when I tip him. Hopefully he can get
most of the scratches out. There is also a spot I can see that is faded and I am going
to try to get him to buff that out too.
Anyhow... long story short. I am going to get different louvers.
I was wondering if you folks could lead me in the direction of finding some
good looking louvers that fit on the window only (using tape or whatever else),
and do not involve taping the louver to the body of the car.
I want to avoid this scratching issue again. I was looking at the ROUSH louvers
but I think they may involve taping the body where the paint is as well.
If it did not involve taping the whole area I might consider that.... and the ROUSH
may do that because I saw three little screws on them.
Anyhow... suggestions and links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!!!!!!

Well, 3D Carbon & Street Scene both make louvers that attach to the window, not the paint. Both available prepainted at atlantaauto.com
My personal recommendation is obviously the SilverHorse Racing ones. Best looking louvers out there, IMO, and have the quality and customer service to go along with it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the roush louvers attach by sticking brackets to the window of your car and then you screw the louver into the brackets.
I got mine from hubcapsplus.com. $175 painted and shipped. They've held up just fine since March. They stick to the window, not the paint.

Can you post me a link to the exact ones?

Here's the link to all the styles they offer, painted and unpainted.

The ones I got were these ones.

Choose your color from the drop down menu, send payment, and wait for them to come in! I've referred everyone with a Mustang who has complimented me on them to this site. The paint was a perfect match to my Legend Lime (hard color to get right)

It should not be damaged but I guess it is possible as the OP had small scratches that he wants to get out while at the dealership. I never had problems in the past with other cars and the tape is the same tape used now as it was back then (even factory non-functional parts use 3M tape)

Can anyone tell me what the difference in these two louvers are besides
one being painted and the other not?

The reason I am asking is that I thought maybe flat black unpainted like the second ones are might look kinda cool on my black stang. (first ones unpainted not an option)
But I wanted to make sure they BOTH fit ON the window and not the body of the car.
Was also wondering if anyone knew of the quality between the two.
Thanks.
