Default First oil change

Changed my oil at the dealer at 4,000kms whent in to see the my car on the hoist and talked to the mechanic and asked him how much oil does my car take he said 6.2 liters as their system is on a machine that they just punch in the amount they need and it pumps the exact amount, my question is in the owners manual it says 5.7 liters and on my dipstick it seems to be over the full amount but its hard to see because the oil is really clear what is the proper amout exactly

  1. Are you V8 or V6? 6.0 quarts for the GT, not sure about the V6...
  2. Save a few bucks and DIY. Invest in some ramps and spend some time getting to know your Stang. Any brand name blend or full synthetic with a Motorcraft or other decent filter, changed at reasonable intervals, will work.

Just turned 30K on my 07 mustang GT this past weekend and changed oil and while it was up on my ramps, I changed out the fuel filter. That added an extra 15 minutes to the 30 minute job. The more you can do and learn about your car the more you will know when a shop is feeding you good info or just pumping you full of garbage.
