I kept the stock stuff intact and added 2 12 in the trunk with a JL audio 500/1 sounds great

i remember seeing a while ago, a subwoofer box made by saleen that is made specifically for the S197's. it looks kind of like the woofer enclosure that comes with the shaker 1000 system but comes with fosgate woofers. not sure on the size or amp specs, but it looks good and fits right.

Default KW-NX7000

I just installed the new JVC KW-NX7000.
The best thing about it is the detachable face plate.

The system cost me alot less than my Pioneer system.
As well I have a Pioneer Z2 system in my truck which i am always worried someone is going to steal.

I like the JVC so far, i installed the bluetooth kit as well as the ipod kit and i am just waiting on the satelite radio now. I will be adding polk component speakers and new amps down the road once i figure out where i can install them.

i think you should also consider some sound-deadening mats to give it that solid crisp sound without the rattle from the door panels.

i can barely bump a lot of my music to a max level because of the weak insulation-action ford did.

good luck with your decision.

i drilled my amp to the back of the rear seats, if you need to adjuast something on the amp just fold the seat down and there it is

The first thing I would reccomend is you get a new head unit and replace your factory speakers. You can keep your door subs but replace the others. I have the Kenwood DNX7120 with Polk audio & Alpine speakers and it sounds outstanding.

I got the Kenwood DNX-5120 and it really brought the system to life. Now Im going to change the stock speakers for a bit more improvement.
