i'm guessing it'll sound fine just upgrading because it seems like most are just swapping speakers/systems.
I think that stuff really comes into play when you put a sub in the trunk because your rear quarters and trunk can rattle like crazy.

my doors rattle like crazy. i sometimes like to listen to music and drown EVERYTHING out.

i can't even set it to like 6 full bars without a rattle, so i just turn it down, or open the windows turn the set off and just run like wild.

btw, what's everyone's speed volume at? i'm running 6

I put sound deadner in mine while I had it apart for paint and it made a big difference, I went with all kicker mids and highs running on the factory amps and 2 12s running on a memphis 1000d.

Where did you place your sound deadner at? Just the doors or else where too?

I deadened my doors, trunk, and rear decklid and it made my speakers sound awesome. Then I deadened under the rear seats, the center console, and the front fenders and now the speakers dont sound as good. They are still better than they were before the deadener, but I dont know what happened.

You do not need 2 subs. One sub powered by a bridged (creates one higher power channel instead of 2-channel stereo) amp output like a Rockford Fosgate is a lot more powerful than 2 subs powered by 2 weaker channels. Cheaper 2 since there's only one sub.

Once I had 2 subs powered by a 2-channel Rockford Fosgate amp. Then a guy at the car audio store said "watch this". He bridged the amp and connected only one sub. It sounded 10x better than what I had before. I rode around with 2 subs with only one of them playing music. Later, I build a smaller box for 1 sub and sold the other sub.

Do yourself a favor and get a Class D amp for subs. It is internally bridged and usually stable to lower OHMs.

Mounting the amp to the backseat is about the most half a$$ thing you can do. It's a seat not any type of location that was designed for strength to hold something by 4 tiny screws. Use the rear deck if you want something stealth amps can be mounted upside down and you can use small bolts to make sure they dont come out. But I used self tapping screws and my jl audio 500/1 has been secured without fault for about a year. Before that I had an amp rack i built.
