imo, the smell is from two things: the cats missing and the lubricant that coats the inside of the pipe used to allow it to fit and slide easier.....that last smell was gone in about a day, but i still smell gas........2 cents

I agree with everyone that the smell is normal with this mod. However, after so long a time the smell should fade away in a short time as the H-pipes seals at the manifolds collector (2 wks) with daily use. If you do not drive your car regularly then this will take longer. Any exhaust smell after this if you have confirmed that there are no leaks, is just a matter of which way the wind blows.
