Unless you have a filter and water remover
such as a paint booth might have, stay away
from the compressed air as it has minute
amounts of oil that naturally gets by the
piston rings. Unless its highly filtered
compressed air, aviod blowing it on the vehicle.
Most home compressors are loaded with water
and rust particles that can become dislodged
and your air stream becomes a sand blaster.

If you use a compressor just put an in-line filter / water remover and the problem is solved. They are not very expensive. As for me, I've been using a leaf blower for years including on my 1967 Mustang show car and never had a single problem with any damage to the finish and the water spots are a thing of the past.

I have a filter/water separator for that reason. You are correct you should have filter to remove water, oil and rust from the air
