Default Drilling a hole in my dash.. ?

I am installing a Saleen Supercharger. Long story short I think I am going with an Innovative A/F gauge and I am wanting to drill a hole in the center of the dash panel above the center console between the 2 vents. ( in the light gray panel ).

My main question: can this panel be replaced by itself later? Is it a separate piece from the rest of the dash panel?

I am just thinking if I sell this car later and the supercharger comes off I may need to eliminate than hole.

Thanks!

Eric

drilling the instrument panel is not a good idea. but if you are going to do it the answer to your question is no that panel is not sold by itself but you could always put something over it. you know kind of like a shelby or saleen plaque

Im gonna be doing that soon too, I was told to be gentle when taking the airbag out. I dont see why you cant get a new dash later.

hmm few ideas. I kinda like the vent pods but with the summer use of AC here in atlanta the gauges would need to be sealed up pretty damn well.

May just go with a pod... will C.

Thanks!

The A/C still works fine ... I'm in Atlanta and have the VentPods ... The center bezel will cost you around $120 from the dealer to replace .. With the ventpods you just can't aim them .. the A/C blows straight out.

its not easliy replaceable by itself.

Speed of sound did a lot of work with the dash when they developed thier triple dash pod set up.

Go with a SOS dual/triple pillar pod!

Eric yes the center panel ($80.00) can be replaced and is very easy to do, I had the Innovate XD 16 on my previous S197 and removed the XD 16 and put a new center panel in when I sold the car.

When I installed mine I only drilled like a 1" hole just enough to get the wires though the wires have a quick disconect connectors to remove guage from dash when needed to program, the XD 16 is a very flat super light gauge 3m taped it to the dash never budged held perfect. The reason I did it this way is I could easily remove it from the car in seconds to reprogram any of the gauge settings on the computer per XD software. You can also change the color (to any color)of any one or all of the circular lights I actually ended up turning all of mine black so they were blacked out.

A pic of it installed.
