IF he stopped him due to profiling then after he learned his identity and found out he wasn't smuggling drugs or anything like that, he could have easily just said have a good night and went on his way.

If you spit your gum out on the sidewalk you can be ticketed for littering. Would you think it was OK if a cop gave you a $500 ticket cause you did that?

It's the same basic premise. Yes enforce the laws but how about enforcing the ones that actually are important and affect public safety.

His tint does not create a public safety hazard, it does not hurt anyone.... It does present an issue, The tailight tint makes it hard for the guy behind him to see the tail lamps. The plate cover makes it harder to identify the vehicle

Yes I would because I hat e it on my shoes, in the carpet of my car and everywhere else. This is one of the worse forms of litering as it does not break down like other things and it becomes a pain in the *** for everyone else.

Worst kind of littering because it doesn't break down. Give me a break. If you are so concerned about the environment don't drive a supercharged 4.6L mustang. Just something to consider.

If you can't tell if a taillight is on or off due to some tint being on it, you probably shouldn't be driving in the first place. I wonder, how in the world did the cop know to slow down as the mustang slowed down? Did he see the taillight light up? Yes. Such an asinine law.

I don't think he meant it like for the environment, more so about it being a pain in the *** for people to step in etc... but yea I agree, stupid law. As long as you can see a RED GLOW from 500+ feet away, should be no problems.

A few years ago I got rear ended, the lady that hit me told the cop my brake lights weren't working. I was prepared to show the cop that they were working but all he did was look at her and say "you couldn't tell his car was getting closer to you?" I tried not to laugh.

On another note, there is a TA around where I live that has tinted taillights, at night it is easy to see his brake lights, you can hardly see his parking lights. During the day, you can't see his brake lights at all. Lights tinted that dark are a public safety issue. I have no problem with tinted tail lights as long as they are still easily seen during all conditions.

I have to be very careful in the town I live in, I have been pulled over multiple times in my car but never given a ticket. Once I got pulled over for no front plate (I wasn't mad, I knew it was illegal) and the other time I didn't have my headlights on when I pulled out of a gas station at night.

My current exhaust is pretty loud but the cops don't even blink an eye for some reason. I think part of it is the biker bar in town and how loud the Harley's are, my car is quiet compared to them.

I color coded mine to match the color on the top of my car.I just know if I get hit in the rear it is going to be an issue, as soon as the police see them painted they will throw a flag, it is a chance I take... because it looks so good.

OK bad example, I agree I hate stepping on that crap as well.

You know what I mean though.

I will agree that some laws are just plain crap, but they are still laws and you should expect and own up to the consiquences if you choose to violate them. I will also say that tailights are there for a reason and if I cant see them from 20 feet away in the day light when you step on the brakes, then that is a bit of a hazard. If you had to slam on the brakes and your tailights were not on, the reaction of the person behind you wil be a little slower. Sure in the normal stop and go of a day would never be affected by the lack of rear lights, but that one time!

To the poster who thought I cared for the enviroment.... Not in the least, in fact I think Al Gore and his cronnies are full of ****! But that is another story for another time. Besides, I don't think there are too any tree huggers with a blown V8 LOL!

Again. I am not saying I agree with the laws, I think the smog laws in Cali are a little too strict, but if ever choose to remove the cats from my ride, I must be prepared for the punishment. That is all I am saying.

Stop crying when you intetionally violate the law! Either don't do it, or pay for it!

I guess it just depends on where you live..

I was pulled over once for speeding 69 in a 40 taken down to 49 in a 40 and once because a cop wanted to check the car out and gave me 3 warnings. I asked him if I should remove anything he said no nice car have a nice day.

gotta love SC. You can see the red through the black in the second picture.
