just got pulled over for....
06elnr.. if i had your car.. i would take the risk all day man.. looks soo sick and is deffinately worth it.. question tho.. does any brake light at all come through since its painted like that?
thanks for the pics sevenleaf.. i thought about going with these.. but just dont want to get seen by him again wiht "covers" over my taillights wether they are transparent enough or not..
so heres my status.. i tried to tell the person i bought the OE lights from on Ebay to cancel but the lights were already shipped out.. and they have a zero % return policy..
so i just went ahead and installed them.. AND .. i got lucky and a harness with bulbs came on one of the housings.. so i went ahead and did what i wanted to do for the longest time and rigged up the harness's on my car with one of the brake light pigtail/socket so that now when i hit the brakes, all three tail lights come on instead of just two.. looks a trillion times better.. IMO, it looks so dumb with the inside one of the tri-bar tail lights being off when you hit the brakes..
and as far as the appearance of the red, OE tails, it doesnt look as bad as i thought it was going to.. i ALMOST like it..
but thanks everyone for the help.. youve all been a huge help and even helped keep my head up about the whole thing..

They are not pointless petty regulations. Its an issue of uniformity and standardization. When the red lights on the car in front of you light up you instantly know that person has applied the brakes and is slowing down. Basically it’s enforcing a line in the sand keeps everyone from doing their own thing on the roadways.
Refer to them as driving lights and not fog lights next time.
tech. they are not fog lights so you are correct. Front fog lights and driving lights are often confused. The main difference is in the light pattern.
Fog lights are designed to improve visibility of the road directly ahead of the vehicle, in fog or hazardous weather conditions that reduce visibility. Road Rules state that they are not to be used at any other time.
Front fog lights can emit either a white or yellow light. Rear fog lights must emit a red light. Rear fog lights are installed to make a vehicle more easily visible from the rear in fog, mist or hazardous conditions and should be wired independent of the car's other lights.
Fog lights have a low, flat, wide beam that is meant to illuminate the road below the fog or mist. Which obviously our driving lights do not accomplish this. so a police officer / deputy can bust chops all they want, but in Fla. (Anyhow) there is no law against having a driving light on that does not light as high as a high beam light would.
