I used to live in Brentwood.
Best place i've ever lived and really regret leaving.

But yeah, I live in north AL now and we are out of 93 everywhere as well. Everyone is running out of regular and there is only one station with 93, which is the most expensive and took me forever to find. It's an Exxon station so i'd check your local Exxon.

On top of that I'm stuck on my 93 Race tune because my SCT tuner is broken. Doug has it right now and is fixing it... what great timing.

Read the fine print on the back of the Octane boosters. They are not as effective as they say.

On the back, you will read, when they say it increases octane by "5 points" they technically mean 0.5 increase.

So a bottle of "5 octane" increase means you take your 87 octane to 87.5 octane. This was the case at least with the bottles I looked at after hearing this tip.

Yesterday regular gas here was $3.59 a gallon. I haven't seen any stations running out of gas.....yet. Although, I did hear on the news this morning that a barrel of oil went up $16.00, I'm sure we are unfortunately gonna feel it soon!

This brings back some bad memories from the 70's with all those long lines and only being allowed to fill up on odd or even days, depending on the last number of your license plate.

There has to be other reasons besides a shortage of fuel otherwise the whole country would be affected.

3.45 for regular, I can't remember the last time it was that cheap here, plenty of supply here too, never seen any station with any gas, but here in Chicago area it's 4.15 for regular all the time

its only $3.99 for regular here if you can find it and dont mind waiting an hour or so to get it. i paid $4.10 sunday night at a place off the interstate. no line was worth .10 more a gallon.
dont mean to hijack but how many gallons do our tanks hold? i know the book says 16. but i dont think mine is reading right. i was below a half and it still only took 8.1 gallons. wtf

From what I've seen most of the problem stems from the different blends of fuel (called boutique fuels) for different areas. Due to air quality and environmental concerns, there are a multitude of different blends of fuel for various areas throughout the country. With the refineries being shutdown while Ike rolled through, it took time to get them up and going again. Certain blends that are used in lesser numbers of areas may see shortages due to the demand outsourcing the supply.

If the nation would simply merge their fuel requirements into just a couple of blends, things like this would be much easier in terms of getting gas to the pumps.

This link (although a couple years old) explains this further:
