Is it possible to trade just the struts for heavy duty ones. I don't know if they are inter-changeable though. But its worth checking out at an auto supply store.

I used the ones from Moss Mustang. They are good hood struts and they are only a fraction of the price. The only drawback is you need to use rivets on the hood. If you change out the hood, just drill out the rivets.

I have the MRTs. They were super easy to install and require no drilling.
