I just bought my 2009 for Invoice - $1500 rebate - $500 of dealer's holdback. Paid $23,500 for it... They financed it through a local credit union for 5.89% as well...

I believe it was like $27,570. Its just a plain deluxe GT with no extras. I had the decked out premium before (my '07 that I traded) and really just didn't care about all the extras. I used the "my color" speedo thing like 3 times maybe, the leather made my *** sweat, I pretty much only listen to talk radio (howard stern, etc) so the Shaker was lost on me, and the leather dash and IUP really didnt do anything for me either. So this time I thought it would be cool to start with something more basic and tweak it out as I wish...

I didn't see such a thing on the lot (and they had many 09's), or on the website build tool. Are you sure that is even an option on the 09s?

before you go to any dealer, know exactly what you want (or willing to settle for), how much your willing to pay and know that there are many Ford dealers out there that will do everything possible to make a deal (while there are others who could care less)...

just like a card game, don't show your hand until the very end

good luck to you!!

Yeah I went to one dealer that was a total piece of crap. Idiots, high pressure, incompetent, rude. The finance guy even told me to my face he didn't care about the deal... that it "meant nothing" to him. This was after I balked at his 10% interest rate.

I ended up at Bankston Ford in Frisco TX, and the entire deal took less than 1 hour. They were great!

I live in Virginia and there are a ton of Ford dealerships in northern VA and Maryland. I plan to write down the Mustangs I'm interested in at each dealership and spend a day shopping each one until I find the best deal (and letting them KNOW that I'm visiting other dealers that day.)

Hello everyone, I've been lurking around for a week or two, and I thought I'd chime in... I bought an 08 Mustang (V6, black, with Pony Package, safety and security option...) a few weeks ago, acctualy on 9/1/08, and that was the last day of 0% financing for 72 months for Mustangs... Just couldn't pass that one... Now I'm in love with my car!
