Wow, I guess I'm the only one who grandpa's it around when I'm just running around... If I'm just steadily cruising or with light acceleration, I usually move to 5th right around 40 (my shifts are usually around 1750-2000 RPM) w/ 3.55 gears.

I have 3.55s too and if I shift to 5th at 40mph the car will accelerate VERY slowly (Honda Civic slow). Though I have started to shift before 2500rpm in an effort to save some gas. I went an additional 40 miles out of a tank of gas.

And yes you do drive like a grandpa .

I can use 5th gear at 40 MPH in my car.....but I have a 6 speed in mine with 500 ponies to help it along.

When I shift that low I feel as if I'm gonna break the crank...

I'm shifting into 2nd at 40mph in my 07 GT.

Then again, I have a three speed turbo 400 with manual valve body in my GT!

I only got three gears so I have to make them last!!!
