Default CD player SOUND problem

I had the 500 replaced for the usual reasons, and now, I dont think it sounds as good as the old one. The radio will sound rich and full, but when I try a cd, its as if it's playing through a $5 K-Mart radio. Some cds are better than others, but generally, its disappointing. Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe theres a fix for it? The dealer has different downloads to fix various problems, but Im not sure about this one. I wanted to see if its a common thing before I called them.

Some people have noticed a sound quality difference in the "B" version radio's.
