Default 27.7mm'" offset?

I read somewhere that this is the correct offset for the mustang? I want to get 19s but want to make sure if they will fit my mustang without giving me a harsh ride. Here are the specifications for the rims I want:

Front Fitment - Size: 19x8.5", Offset: +40mm, Backspacing: 6.29", Weight: 26lbs. Recommended Tire size: 245/45/19.

Rear Fitment - Size: 19x9.5", Offset: +45mm, Backspacing: 7.01", Weight: 27.5lbs.
Recommended Tire size: 275/40/19.

Will this be a good fitment on my mustang?

S197 mustang
The correct offset for 7" wide rims is 39mm
8" wide rims is 45mm offset
8 1/2" wide rims is 50mm

SN95 Mustang 28mm offset

Those pups will fit on an S197 mustang (05-09)

Personally I would avoid the 19s as tires
are not as readily available for them.

My stock wheels were 17"x8" with a 50mm offset. I replaced them with 18"x9" bullitts with 40mm offset. That put the edge of the tires allmost even with the fenders.
The size info is stamped on the inside of your wheels.

The optimal offset is

10" wide - 40-45mm rear
9" wide - 24-30mm front 30-40mm rear

That will get you close to flush with the fender without coming out of the fender. What you are looking at would work fine.

Thanks guys for the info! I know tires are hard to come by for 19s but tirerack.com gave some suggestions:

I live in NYC so I see seasonal changes. Which one would you guys recommend?

I'd recommend a good summer tire and keep your current wheels for winter. Believe me, you don't want your nice aftermarket wheels seeing salt. The first bit of salt they see and they're done for. Out of those choices, I would go with the Eagle F1's.

nice. thanks DarkFire. depending on the weather, i may or may not store my stang for the winter. do you know if the F1's are noisy after certain miles?
