Full syn is what I have used since the first change (at 1000 miles) and never one issue! It wont hurt the car.

Over 23,000 miles since changing to full synthetic and only had the engine fall out once and the muffler bearings fail twice. But not ONE CEL.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Curious where you guys are dumping your oil. I'm gonna start doing my own oil. I noticed a sign at walmart saying they'll take it. Being green and all, I guess Walmart corp doesn't mind. I'd feel weird going to an oil change shop and asking to dump off my oil.

Is it free to dump at walmart or anywhere else?

You could dump the oil at Advance Auto Parts.

They say that because Synthetic doesn't break down like a normal oil which doesn't allow your rings in your pistons to seat properly, never heard of it throwing a code though, as long as you wait til the first oil change - 3000 miles - all is fine

I used to put it back in the bottles and pitch it over the fence into the neighbors yard. But I guess he didn't like that because he pitched them back.

Now I put it in those big 1 gal ziplock bags and pitch it over the fence. That must be OK with the neighbor, because he pitches the empties back so I can re-use them.
