I think that you should remove the hood scope, install the stripes, and then install the hood scoop again. I don't think that the hood scoop should be striped but that's just my personal opinion.

Pics: (you can't tell me this looks dull)

So vinyl was the next best thing..

I have a hood scoop on my car, I wanted the gt500 stripes how would that work?
And with it being vinyl would the stripes look just dull... and not shine with the rest of the car?
I would like to see a mineral gray mustang with the flat matted black stripes..but for me it was only about $300 more for the painted...good luck

The stripes look fine with or without the hood scoop IMO. Don't discount installing the vinyl yourself, it really isn't that difficult. Just take your time and be very deliberate about what you're doing.

i've had vinyls for over a year and they still look good. just the hood is starting to get a tad bit dull (compared to when it was installed). just take care of them.

Agreed. Give the stripes a go on your own. Yes, it is tedious and irritating at times, but the satisfaction is worth it, not to mention the cost savings....150 bucks and a weekend of labor......
