I regretted the automatic in my 2007. I've recently fixed that though. As far as mods go, I don't regret anything I did to the last car, or the little I've done to this one (so far). Especially when it comes to appearance mods, you sometimes just have to try things out and see how they look in person. This has been the case with my various "weekend toys" through the years...

I regret choosing the flowmasters over boomtubes. Only real thing I've done so far.

I'm kind of regretting getting my $170 vinyl stripes as there going to cost $500 to install, good thing is they have yet to be installed so I may just return them.

I regret buying my LCA. I should have bought tools instead. I hate having to borrow everything and at this point I don't have what you need to put the LCA on the car in the first place. Need a cheater bar, torque wrench, and jackstands/jack. All I have is decent socket set right now.

I regret getting a ram air hood that isn't made of better quality. The hood took hours of prep work and you can still see small flaws if you look real close in the right light. The only other thing that I should have done was purchase my Roush bumper from the beginning. I put a Razzi front air dam on my original bumper only to take it off 3 months later to install the Roush.

I love all my mods thus far, I just regret buying the razors because there only 9" wide, I wish I would have looked around a little more and bought some 19x11's

I have been pretty happy with my choices.
One thing I think about when I look at the car from a certain angle is the overlay billet grille/fog combo, sometimes I have an idea of buying a non-overlay billet grill and cutting two spots to center mount my fogs like the eleanor. Decisions...decisions.

Only 2 S197 Mods I have been unhappy with so far, one is my Kmember brace with Tq limiters. I really didnt have a problem before but I figured WTH it might make it even better. It didnt. Now sometimes it is really hard to get into reverse and I dont like the feel of the car. I think I am getting used to it now as it is less annoying than it used to be, but I still might end up taking it off. The other is my BMR LCA's. I busted out the poly bushings in like 4k miles and I do not drive the car hard often. They were stand up about it and sent replacement, but did charge me shipping lol. But after looking at them I think it is a design flaw. If I bust them again I will just get the GT 500 arms.

To share a lesson I learned on my last stang it is not to lower your car if it is a DD. I loved the handling and look, put it was a royal PITA to drive. Speed bumps and steep driveways are the devil. I must have scraped my exhaust a 1000 times and forget about putting more than 2 people in the car.

For my S197 all my mods so far have been perf. I am toying between a bunch of appearance mods, but the number of rock chips and other marks is rediculous. Hate to spend big bucks just to be pissed down the road. I would really regret that.

+1 on that bro! It will be some time this coming spring before I can slap a S/C on mine! I do not regret a damm thing I have done to my car. Started modding it the week I got it and never looked back since. My only regret is not having more free cash to do the mods I still have planned NOW! But I can't stress this more...."Take your time and think threw each mod and make sure its what you really want and most of all, that when its done that it looks like it belongs on your car"

After reading the title.. i regret getting a 5 speed. I take it out on weekends, for the track and im not as good of a driver as id like to be, just to many variables that can cause everything to be different. I can stay within .2 seconds consistancy now but i wish i would have had an auto. Thats the only thing that made me buy a DD was because i liked the lazyness of an auto. -Jon

Regrets: Got 4.10's last week, new Posi ( all installed 1000$) Actually ran slower (13.04)- never let the car cool( 24 runs in 3 hours) I know it was heatsoaked but i was atleast hoping to run the same time. for 1000$ i should have just picked up a nitrous kit or saved for something else. That car doesnt drive that much different, besides having to go into 4th gear in the 1/4 now. Next week, ill let the car cool inbetween runs and run it a little harder. I also had to learn to launch all over again with the 4.10's and now i cant even get a consistant 1.75 60' with the new setup... i guess i just have to keep up the practice! -Jon
