Ever Regret...?
Only 2 S197 Mods I have been unhappy with so far, one is my Kmember brace with Tq limiters. I really didnt have a problem before but I figured WTH it might make it even better. It didnt. Now sometimes it is really hard to get into reverse and I dont like the feel of the car. I think I am getting used to it now as it is less annoying than it used to be, but I still might end up taking it off. The other is my BMR LCA's. I busted out the poly bushings in like 4k miles and I do not drive the car hard often. They were stand up about it and sent replacement, but did charge me shipping lol. But after looking at them I think it is a design flaw. If I bust them again I will just get the GT 500 arms.
I'm the opposite; I regret selling my 5 speed and using the wife's auto vert to race. For me, the thrill/challenge of banging gears FAR outweighs the consistency of racing an automatic. Just mashing the pedal and holding onto the steering wheel for 1320' isn't that exciting to me. I HAD to sell my 5spd coupe to get something bigger for our growing family, so no regrets there. But the auto fails to scratch my racing itch.
In terms of modding regrets, I too blew up the t-lok in my 7.5" rear, so if you intend to race a 4.0L you should plan on installing a 8.8" take-off and saving yourself a headache later on.

i also regret buying a brand new 08 to mod. Even though i got a great deal could have saved some cash and got a used 05. Within 6 months of owning the car i will have voided the warranty and replaced/re-painted every exterior part!
And yeah those are the LCA's I have. The passenger side split in less than 4k miles and was completely gone by 4.5k. The driver side was cracked and starting to go. BMR said it was from a bad batch they had, but I doubt it as I bought them from Brenspeed and asked if these could be affected by the "bad batch" and they said no they were brand new. Like I said BMR did provide replacements but did charge me shipping
But like I said looking at them now all the force goes to like 1/4" of the bushing so I can see them breaking again. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt but I am ready to switch to something else if I need to.My advice is to inspect them every 1k-3k miles. That is what I will do from now on.
No...don't tell me that about the LCAs.
I will have to keep a eye on them.
I was considering the K member w/ Torque limiters for me missing third occasionally. Countless members have attested to changing the shifter to resolve the issue. I will probably do that first as I want to upgrade the shifter anyway

I will probably be the only one to regret gears. I got 4.10's in my auto. They whined horribly and then the bearing was too tight and it got smashed up. So when I took it back to get it adjusted, the gears were ruined. At that point I went with 3.73s since the 410s rev'd too high on interstate. After 4 trips back to this shop, it now sounds worse than ever. Well now it is at a different shop getting fixed.
I suppose if someone who knew WTF they were doing did it right the first time, I wouldnt regret it. But going on several months now and still not right.
