Default Gear Install Kit

So I ordered my FRPP 4.10s from Stage3 on Monday so they will be in probably this week. Whicked excited about this mod.

I was wondering though if I need an "install kit"? I haven't been able to find any yes/no information. If I need one does Ford sell one, or is the Motive one good...I know some ppl have complaints about the Motive gears, but what about the install kits? I'm really not sure if I need this or not...thoughts please?

It's an 05 with a little over 30,000 miles...the ring and pinion was replaced by Ford under the TSB about 20,000 miles ago or so...

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Yes, you'll need an install kit. Don't get it from Stage3 though, it's $20 cheaper though Brenspeed.

Also, be sure to pick up a few quarts of Royal Purple and you're good to go! You're going to LOVE the gears!

OK, if your gears didn't come with that stuff them you'll need the install kit.

Okay so I'll wait till the gears come in and then see if they come with anything or I need the install kit...

So I take it that the Motive install kit is just fine? I don't need to get a Ford one? I'm assuming the install kit doesn't have the same "issues" that the gears from Motive do?

I'll likely go with the standard gear oil from the shop, because I plan on doing the change out the oil thing after the first 500 miles...It keeps getting recommended, even more so than the early first oil change on a new car...Seems like good insurance....

If I need the kit, I'll likely get them from Stage3...I'm local to them so I get a pretty good discount because they don't have to spend any shipping money and Bill is a friend and usually can meet or beat anyone's price....

For the same reasons that most people are loyal to Brenspeed (I hear nothing but good things about them), I am loyal to Stage3. So I talk them up

It is kind of up to you.....if you want to order one. I would say yes. You for sure need a new pinion seal. Now, since the rear is going to be all apart, why not replace the carrier and pinion bearings and races.
