GT beater!!!!!????

I recently read a thread elsewhere from a guy who installed SSM's stage 2 or 3 heads with stock cams and dyno'd
at 230rwhp (forget his torque number). Another guy with PowerHouse cams & heads (no longer available) dyno'd around
280rwhp with his 4.0L/auto V6 (before he added an STS turbo). Those are STRONG numbers for a N/A V6, and would
put a 4.0L into solid mid-13's, which is comparable to S197 times.
Is it pointless to mod these 4.0L's for track use? There are a bunch of guys who would say no. Rygen, Buckman, fazm,
boss, 28HopUp (shameless plug!) have done great things with the Torque Monster. It's all about taking what you've
got and getting more out of it. Isn't that what the GT's do too? Sheesh, is it that hard to understand why racing a V6
can be just as much fun as racing with two or more cylinders? Still don't believe me, then look at the following pic
and ask yourself if I was having a good time -

with that car. By the way, that day I beat a few GT's in the 1/4 and on that run I beat the S197 in
the next lane to the 1/8th mile marker (he's outa frame). Here's the slip -

So what? I know that low-14's aren't super fast, but I had a blast banging gears with that N/A V6. No
disrespect, but what ET's have you run with your GT? I'm sure it was better than my old bolt-on V6 (unless
you were one of the GT's I humbled that day!). Whether it's quicker or not, did you have fun with your car?
Granted, this conversation has centered around track racing, and there are many other ways for owners to
enjoy their Stang (car shows, auto-x, land speed, weekend cruising, etc). But that's my point - getting out
there and enjoying your Stang. In terms of racing, I'll say it again, it's all about taking what you've got and
getting more out of it. That holds true regardless of engine displacement.
dont get offended....you asked a pretty open question and it was sure to bring the results it did..please note you can always build a faster car...it all depends on what you want to spend...
