Hi

My installer cant get my stereo and dome light to shut off after setting the remote start and shutting the door (it takes the manual shut off which takes 9 mins). Its a viper 5701 le. Any ideas for me to pass on?

When we shut our doors our deck turns off automatically. But, when the remote start is set (the procedure ie stepping on brake, leaving in nuetral etc..) the door is opened, I get out then closed, my deck stays on for about 9 mins until it shuts off. Without the remote start, just using the alarm function of the 2 way viper alarm, the deck and turns off as soon as the door is shut. He is new to s197 mustangs so is there a wire hes supposed to tap into or something else?

IF my memory serves me correctly there is a dome override wire in the SBJ on the passenger side. Your installer will have to use that. Does the alarm sound through the stereo? I don't remember anything in a remote start system that has anything to do with the stereo so I would assume that problem has something to do with the alarm.

my installer tried, coudln't get around it, so he essentially tricked the alarm to thinking my car was an automatic

so whether my car is in gear or not, it will start

ive learned to live with it
