Default Insurance

will modifying my cars performance, getting it tuned, adding side exhaust, and custom suspension. will my car still remain insured or be insurable? or do i need to have the work done at a shop?

You can either have your insurance company add those on to your existing policy which would make it go up, or not tell them anything... they dont need to know that stuff...

if you don't tell them, then those parts just aren't insured and if you get in a wreck, they'll replace them with stock parts.

However, adding anything "ricey" voids insurance, warranty, friendship, forum membership, etc...

As an insurance agent I can tell you it is really up to the company. I work for Nationwide, and included in any of our auto insurance agreements, it includes an automatic $1,500 in coverage for aftermarket stuff. Anything over that, if you want it covered, needs to be added to the policy. Usually it doesn't affect premium all that much. Worst you could do is call and as for a quote.
