well if I drop close to $300 for a shifter, having to make mods like some mentioned here is enough to convince to avoid the Hurst... as much as I love the look.

Yeah Doogie... IMO the best route to take is using the MGW or another brand that works well & doesn't rattle - but order it with the correct threads to add the Hurst handle! Good luck whatever you decide..

Lol yeah, can you order just the handle? I've snooped around a bit, i'm using the steeda billet arm right now

Eagle, you definitely can order the Hurst handle... I even saw the Hurst T-handle on the SHELF @ my local AUTOZone store for $26.

just get the mgw and get the ball i got its tall and looks great if you want a pic let me know

Good to know. Didn't really think about it but I could use any handle that size, time to start shopping

what does this notorious hurst rattle sound like? does it sound like a lose bolt or something to that?

it sounds like a rattle lol its like a metal on metal sound you can feel it to
