Just watch to make sure you don't get wax on it.
Hot rod black is not flat black, it's matte. Flat/matte finish paints have come a log way since the black primer days. They do not hold moisture or chalk (Most are 2 stage paints) Dusted lightly with spray detailer gives it a very nice subtle sheen. If you use wax products on it, it becomes more a semi gloss and looks a bit odd. Remove the wax with dish soap and your back to where you started.

Here is a link to a thread with a ton of pics.

https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005-2014-mustangs/492430-wrecked-now-back-from-the-shop.html

My suspension is Ford Racing 1.5" lowering springs with a CHE adj panhard bar. Everything else is stock so far. The wheels are cheap FR500 replicas, 18x9 up front and 18x10.5 in the rear. The finish on the wheels was garbage and had started to peel so I looked into powder coating them but that cost twice what I paid for them so I decided to paint them HotRod black to match all of the other black accents I have on the car. It came out great.

Sorry for the thread hijack...

When I went in to have my stripes done I made sure to ask for the Hot Rod Black because I wanted to make sure I knew what I would be getting. It came out great and havent had any issues although I do try to stay away from the stripes with Wax and Oils. I have pictures in my Gallery not good at figuring out how to post in a thread yet.

Thanks,
I was happy with the results myself, just did a good prep job. When it needs redone, another $5.00.
Check Lowes, Home Depot,Wal-Mart for the Krylon.
