Default K&N AirCharger info...

I ordered the K&N and it's still in the mail, but I have a question about it..

I realized that on the site I bought it from it says Off Road Use only off road kit, and it says that the emissions plugs and hoses will not attach to it. Here is the link http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/knfilte...e79cf57f368c47

However, the same part number on the K&N site does not show that and it the directions show that the plugs and hoses do attach, here is that link: http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=63-2565

Are there two different models of the same item? One designed stricltly for off road? Or is there some kind of mix up?

Anyone have one of these?

Both descriptions say they are not 50-state smog legal... that says to me that something won't hook back up.

My local muffler shop offered to install this part number for me. This shop seems like it's pretty legit, and it stocked these items. They honestly don't seem like a shop that would be doing work like that without notifying the buyer that it's not legal.

uhhh, about how much does a dyno cost? I've never inquired about it before, I have no idea. I would like to see a before and after dyno.

If you follow the second link in the original post there's a link to K&N's dyno results on an 05 Mustang...

Around here it runs $75.00 per hour or 3 pulls. That eauls out to about the same anyway. You don't have to have a Dyno unless you really wanna see the gains / losses between stock and modified.

As for the other question about tunes, your gonna have to buy a mod chip (Jet or something similar) or a flash tuner (Diablo or SCT). They are more expensive but they allopw you to make more advanced modifications to a multitude of settings.

I installed a K&N CAI intake on my '05 GT (AT) and everything hookups. I have had it for about 2-weeks. I can tell a difference in the car and I did not have to get a tune. Now, JTtucker of JLT, claims that I am most likely running lean and I have asked the techs ay K&N to respond the to the AF question.

I have not hear back yet, but I have not thrown any codes and I don't think the car is running lean. I am beginning to think that the CAI and need a tune is a swindle by the sellers of CAI's to make an additional mark-up and sell a tune that is not really needed - that is unless you want to maximize hp.
