You want to make sure the tap you use actually as the same thread as the new bleeder.

2) Self tapping means that the bolt (or bleeder in this case) is specially designed to cut new threads as you twist it in. The nose will be the same size as your existing hole and will have sharp threads to cut. The bolt with then widen like the attached picture. The grooves are to move the metal shavings out of the way so you dont' cross thread while you are tapping new threads.
Thanks for explaining this, I appreciate it very much. Do you recommend any bleeder screw I should use or how I should go about fixing this? Thank you.

Cool, do you have a exact part number from Napa? also, do you have a picture of the Tap tool? Would I need to buy the tool separate or is it included in the kit? Thanks.

Cool thanks, I literally called about 50 different brake shops today asking if they could retap my brake bleeder bolt. All of them were clueless or either just plain off told me to replace the caliper. This forum is awesome, so many members helping other fellow members.
