Cool 02 sensor question

So I took a peak under the car today and never realized this but correct me if I'm wrong.... but is the catalytics converter almost right off the header with the o2 sensor connected to it?? Sorry I'm still a newbie to my 06 v6 Mustang !!

Also I was wondering does anyone know how to get around cutting that guy off and mounting the 02 sensor some where else without triggering the check engine light to stay on?????

Why would you want to do that?

go buy an offroad pipe. Cheaper, and you save the factory unit in case you need to reinstall it. Get a tune that turns off rear o2 sensors, or you can try o2 simulators
