Default Dyno Prep and Information

Hey Everyone,

I've decided I'd like to see what my cars got so I've decided to get dyno'd. I've never gotten it done before so there are some questions I have.

- I need to change my oil in 500miles. Should I change before I get the pulls done or it doesn't matter? Got 6qts of fresh RP waiting!

- Does air quality make or break your #'s. Yes, I know that the engine will perform better with better air but What does the Correction Factor do for the #'s? Ex: I was thinking of getting dyno'd tom and the weather is going to be 60 and rainy. Is this not a good day for a dyno? Would a 20 degree day in the middle of the winter be better? lol

- Lastly, what #'s you think I can hit? You think I can break that magical 300??? I'd think it's a shoe-in but brent retuned my car a little more conservatively after I had spark knock.

Any help with these questions would be awesome! thanks guys! Also feel free to post up your dyno #'s----N/A only please, my cars not that badass! 8-)

1. If using RP now then there is no need IMO to change it before a dyno run.

2. Air quality can affect your numbers but by how much (many factors can contribute to max HP)? R U at sea level or near it? (think your close). The humidity will be high but the temp is in the right spot IMO. Sure a winter dyno run should yield higher numbers than a 60 degree one if all other factors were the same and your car was running exactly the same.

EX- I had my car tuned in 93 deg heat and 67% humidity in sept (I know very hot for MI and time of year).......went back a month later and the temp was 60 degrees and the humidity was much less (30% maybe) and the differences between the 2 dyno sessions after 3 runs each session was 10 RWHP ( I have FI). Now the car pullied a little harder and the car did have a start issues but when warmed up ran great (hence the reason for the second dyno session a month later)

3. I think you might hit (based on mods in sig-and 4.10's can give lower numbers on the dyno) 290+ with great TQ numbers! (over 300).

A real nice test to see gains would be to have the car dyno'd stock and then with said mods.... thats more important (diff bet the 2) than the bottom line IMO...

The oil change won't matter.

Don't sweat the outside ambient. But I'd ask the guys doing the dyno how much more conservative, if any, it might make your #'s

My guess, not knowing what tune you're running plus all the possible variables, is 295. But I'd love to hear that you hit 300 or better.

I am being conservative but like Nuke said the many variables involved with any dyno can vary greatly...
