Mustangs hate snow
The tire profiles that come stock on a GT are just not close to good in the snow regardless of snow tire. In the OLD days, when a mustang could be had with steel 14" wheels, you could get away fine with snows in the winter. A perfromance sized snow is a joke. Follow the advice of others and get a beater that can take skinny snows. My old Miata is my winter car... skinny tires, snows and not too much juice. Perfect combo, and still fun on nice days.
Years ago when I had my first GT I learned the hard way by trying to drive that thing in the snow. Needless to say it only took me a few months to convince myself that I needed another ride. I haven't looked back and am glad to say that all four of the stangs stay tucked in the garage all winter now.
No way I could drive mine in the snow...I wouldn't make it past my driveway. I have to have a 4WD for my daily driver just for this very reason....and there are days in the winter I have to keep it in 4WD the whole trip.
