When I do this at my shop, I use the Valvoline cleaner kit. It uses an adapter that sets up the intake feed with something very much resembling an IV. No worries about overdoing it, as it constantly dribbles in over about 15min, while the engine is running. The more smoke comes out the exhaust, the more junk it is cleaning out. Seafoam is great and works fine, but there is no way for the DITY'er to control the flow. Doing it before 75k miles, the effects are barely or not noticeable. Its not a total waste of money because its a preventative measure. Just like changing oil at 3k instead of 5-6k. I dont push something like this early on because of the lack of a noticeable difference.

Put all of the can in the gas tank at empty at the gas pump
before filling her all the way up with fuel. This properly mixes the
SeaFoam with the saddle bag type S197 mustang fuel tank.
Cleans the injectors. And the intake runners by the valves.

Empty Tank
Next To Gas Pump
Pour In SeaFoam
Fill Fuel Tank To Full
Enjoy The Cleaning Properties Of SeaFoam
Also helps remove any water that might have collected in the fuel tank.

None needed in the oil unless you dont change your oil often.
Expecially on a newer engine with less than 50K miles on her.
There is virtually nothing for the SeaFoam in the oil to clean out.

Putting it into the Brake Booster Vacuum line was needed for
Throttle Body injected motors but the S197 is Multi-Port injected
and unless you dont run an air filter, there are no fuel deposits in
the intake assembly that would be removed by introducing SeaFoam
into the intake assembly via the Brake Booster Vacuum line.
You are just asking for trouble doing that to a S197.

I would recommend against this.
If you dont know what a brake booster
hose is, you have no busisness
introducing SeaFoam into it.
But seriously, I got my GF to
point it out for you......
OK, now just look to the left...

Haha! nice pic. I still have the can of seafoam and was just reading the back of it down in the garage (giving the car a good inside/outside scrubbing this morning before heading over to show it off to family members that have never seen it before). Still thinking about adding some to the fuel to clean the system a bit.

My oil still comes out as clean as it went in after 10k miles with amsoil 0w-30 and eao filters. I know I don't need anything in my crankcase to "loosen stuck lifters" lol. My internal engine probably still looks like it did the day I bought it...

I'll run Techron fuel system cleaner at each oil change which is about 8k-10k miles for me. I've used Seafoam in my 150,000 mile SUV's fuel system and didn't feel any difference. However, I still believe it's a very good product.
