if it's still under warranty, i would just have the dealer replace it for now. i believe most of the aftermarket throttle bodies will perform the same unless you are f/i

How did you figure out it was the throttle body?

My car kept hitting the "put around" mode a while back. Wouldn't do it under any specific circumstances (weather, speed, altitude). The Ford dealer wouldn't take care of the problem..........I mean "couldn't duplicate the problem, But the Suzuki dealer had a Ford certified serviceman that found the problem to be the throttle body position sensor. After he snapped one of the bolts that mounts the senosr to the throttle body, he decided to put a new TB and TBPS on the car with a computer flash (don't remember the TSB # and I'm too lazy to look for it). Stupid Fail mode is gone now!

yes it is a bad tps.....FYI ALL 2005 OWNERS. THE TPS ON OUR CARS ARE DEFECTIVE....i ordered a new one and the person on the phone informed me that the one she was going to send me was the 3RD generation since the original 2 were bad......i had the same problem ...fail safe mode every once in a while... car would stall as i was coming to a stop....i thought it was a bad fuel filter so i changed that...then i cleaned the throttle body..it wasnt that...i finally bought a voltmeter and read online how to test the tps sensor....there is a certain voltage it should be on each of the 3 or 4 wires....read it while pressing the gas slowly (car on but engine off) and the voltage is supposed to go up or down fluidly .... if the voltage jumps erradically and is all over the place then the tps is the culprit....the new peice is about 70 and is made better that original in a side to side comparison.......

TSB 05-14-4 (third down) in PDF format. The first TSB on this page is pretty much the same, but the third TSB supersedes the first.

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...sb-list-2.html (mods: sorry for posting link to another forum, but I couldn't find a link to TSB's here and the guy needs help)
