I could be wrong, but if the UCA is clunking you should be able to see some markings above it on the body. Hope you get it figured out, I know stuff like that strokes my OCD and drives me nuts.

Do you have an aftermarket UCA?
**EDIT** I went back and read your first post and answered my own question .

IMO I think it is something with your LCAs.

its over bumpy roads AND when i shift AND when i let on / off the gas, i have to be VERY smooth giving it gas or else it goes CLUNK really hard.

for a while i thought it was drivetrain slack but this is really bad.

I'm thinking about just getting some solid BMR lcas and then an adjustable UCA... i dont mind spending the $ if it fixes my problem lol

I doubt the UCA is giving you trouble, if anything it could possibly be the bushings. Which Spohn LCAs do you have? Are they poly/poly, poly/spherical, or spherical/spherical because the more stiff the end choice the more noise you will hear. I assume they are adjustable if you are thinking about going with a solid set right?

Everything you mentioned in post #23 suggests that something is now moving that shouldn't be moving, and there aren't all that many things it could be.

Check to see if the LCAs have been sliding a little due to excessive clearance between the bolts and the holes in the brackets and LCA inner sleeves (look for light wear and shiny metal on the brackets and on the ends of the inner sleeves). I know I've heard of this happening, and I suspect it's generally worse if the poly bushings are noticeably longer than the inner sleeves that go through them. If this is your problem, it can be user-corrected with a little thought and reasonably simple modification of the poly pieces.

well the reason i said i would go with the ADJ UCA is so i can adjust pinion angle and not worry about trouble with adjusting the LCAs.

i will check out the LCAs, probably throw back on the stock ones to see if it gets rid of the problem. i really hope its just these.

would this contribute to the slight side to side movement i have too when i let off the gas?

ive also read that spohn LCAs are not all that great, i got them because they were cheap... they are the POLY ones

YES! it would definitely contribute to the side/side movement. there was a guy on here several months ago ready to replace his AXLES there was so much side/side movement. He said it felt like it was moving several inches side to side. It was the LCA's. I'd highly recommend putting the stockers back on and going with an adjustable upper if you need pinion angle adj (like you said).
