yea.. I'm sure if there was 1500 more then you agreed they would have you sign that as fast as they could.. in life there are good days and bad days... you gave up a good day [&o].

Yeah I think you did the right thing. They would have caught their mistake eventually and I know my integrity is worth a lot more than $1500.

My wife and I once found a bank deposit bag in our movie theater seat. She opened it and it had several thousand in cash and some checks. We moved to another seat and when the movie started we saw people with flash lights looking where we were previously sitting. It was a tough call but I took the bag and told the attendant to meet me out in the hall. Standing there was a Boy Scout troop leader who had just taken his boys to the movie. The money was from their Christmas tree drive. I felt like an a$$ even thinking about keeping the money. Oh...and Waterworld sucked.

Always do the right thing - period, especially when it comes to someone elses money or goods. If there was a verbal agreement with numbers and they sent me something lower I would bring it to their attention and see what they would do. Maybe they would honor it or maybe they would do something for you for your honesty. At any rate...it will always come back to you whether you do the right or wrong thing. What you reap you will sow. I always tell other businesses or stores when they make mistakes. Its just the right thing to do. And that is what I expect from my customers...and thankfully we have many honest ones like you. We have had several instances when we double ship items to customers and we never would have caught it if they didnt bring it up. Good on you for maintaining your integrity dude, you are a rare breed and I for one am proud of you.

I'd say several thousand dollars is fair compensation for having to sit through that movie.

I leased a new SUV (first new car I ever owned at age 30), I got a pretty good deal because of incentives going on at the time but the dealership salesman was a dick. He kept asking "What do I have do do to sell you this car today?". Every time I replied that I will not buy it today and am going to think about it over the weekend. The second to last time he asked, I said "If you ask again I'm leaving." The last time he asked I said "OK", he got a big grin rubbed his hands together (thinking I caved). Without saying another word I got up walked out of his cubicle and out the door, he thought I was going to look at the truck because I heard him say "It's over here" as I walked to my car, got in, and drove away.

I went in on Monday and bought the truck from from the general manager, who made a mistake on the year of my trade-in, that was about $1000, I caught it and said nothing. I would have corrected him if his salesman wasn't such an A$$.

Man, a post on morals and ethics - tough call [8D] I THINK you probably did the right thing, but it would have been pretty easy to sign it and play the "dumb card" if they called you back on it. "Oh man, I didn't even notice the price - I was just so excited about getting my car....etc etc)

Tough one. If I had a good relationship with a dealer like you say, then I'd do the right thing also, without a doubt. But on the other hand, for a dealership that meant nothing to me..... I'd have $1500 to spend on something else.

Dear Lost Soul,
If you think my post was lame then go ahead and post a rebuttal. I think the guy did good and I told him so. If you dont have anything intelligent to say then say nothing Anyone with the intelligence of a squirell can sling insults...I am sure you are better than this and do have the ability to explain why I am lame or wrong in my post. I for one would like to hear it. Sorry if I sound testy, but I believe in holding people accountable for their words otherwise these places become unpleasant playgrounds for trolls. And I am sure you arent one of them. I await your reply
