Geez Guys!

thanks for all of the replys - in only 1 hour or so!

thanks for the message Hawg. Waiting for a reply from Middlekauff.

will also call don davis tomorow.

I really appreciate all the referals.

I really liked the yellow. I saw one here in Rockwall, but it had many mods done to it. lowering kit, "dubs" (not really obnoxious, but probably added $3K), leather aftermarket interior with stitched in yellow mustang horses, and racing stripe decals. Was asking $33K.

Again, I liked the yellow, untill I saw the sonic Blue. WOW!

Either way, this is a performance toy for me, as I turn 40 this year. just want to tweak on it as time goes by, exhaust, intake, chip, perhaps supercharge it after a year or so. My wife has a suburban so a kid carrier is not an issue. Just something to have fun with and drive to work.

Unfortunately, I have 10K screaming to be spent right now, and I am suffering from 6 banger disease!

In dallas area, have heard from Grand Prarie - but all they have in manual are roush. Two non-modded units, but both are automatics. I am a heel and toe kind of gas winger. Sulphur Springs has one, but wants 30K for a Deluxe. Non negotiable.

Keeping up the fight. This will be worth it. Thanks again, and look forward to more in the future.

Hell, If I were you and you knew what you wanted, I'd call other states. Particularly one's with lower sales tax, give them a deposit, then just fly out to pick it it up.
*Remember you'll have to pay your state's DMV tax too when you register it.

It sounds like you're infatuated with the GT. Can't say I blame you. After test driving other cars and then the 2005 I HAD to get one. What I did was go to the biggest volume dealer in town (who just so happens to be one of the biggest Ford dealers in the country) and met a salesman who knew the car and was willing to take the time to get me into one. I told him I was willing to pay MSRP if he could get me into one ASAP. We kept in touch and when the GTs came in he gave me a call, I drove out to see what he had and bought it.
If you let them know that you don't want to haggle and are serious about not just buying a GT but becoming a customer, they may go out of their way to get you one. Dont press your luck and insist on paying via the X-plan.
Unfortunately, at this stage in the gane, we are seeing shortages of GTs.
I personally would recommend putting in an order for a 2006 so you can get the X-plan and get exactly what you want on the car.

well there werent any here in austin, and there arent many on the net. i literally had to just start calling dealerships all over the state, from dallas to houston to s.a. to south texas. after calling about 30-40 dealerships what i found was that there are gt's at a few dealerships they just arent listed. some of the dealerships are marking them up and some will take sticker. well i ended up finding one in s.a. (actually was exactly what i would have chosen if i had ordered it) and paid sticker for it. according to the dealer it had been ordered for someone who never picked it up. do some research and you'll find one, just gotta have a little patience.

I just ordered my 06 GT over the last weekend. I went around to 3 dealerships before I found one willing to do a factory order wiht the X-Plan. First dealer would happily order, but would not give X-Plan. Second dealer refused to order one (This is the same delaer that had an $8000 markup on an 05 GT Vert ($41K!!!)) I pretty much told them where to shove their Vert. Third dealer was unbelievable and happily ordered up my 06 GT, gave me the pricing for the 05 in writing (since 06 pricing is not available) and clearly labeled "06 X-Plan upon delivery" on the paperwork. Signed by the sales manager and myself. All this was after searching within 250 miles of Chicago (Home) and Detroit (Work) trying to find an 05 GT and finally giving up. It truly is a matter of the dealer YOU DECIDE to to business with. Luckily, Chicago has quite a few dealers and the dealer I ordered through is under 20 miles from my house... Now I sit and wait until the 06s start to roll.

yes you are being a wise ***. So before you try and correct me, check yourself. And, when I asked him where he was from, I was not talking to you. So mind your business.[sm=closed.gif]
