TSB 06-9-9 completed! (Fuel pump)
I know I'm probably the last person to get this done, but my car only has 11k miles on it. Anyway, went in and showed them the TSB and told them I've had hesitation about 10 times and they said no problem!
The weird thing is that I've always had a small dead spot in my accelerator that has always made starting off, and especially the 1-2 shift, somewhat difficult to get smooth. Even my 60-year-old dad who has been driving manuals since he was 14 had trouble shifting smoothly in my car. I've always attributed it to just being part of this cars "character"...
But not anymore, it's gone!
Took 2 hours (w/an oil change). I have to say I love Burd Ford here in Indy. They have never questioned my mods. They have a movie room with theater seating, free fountain drinks, wireless internet, and sometimes free popcorn/cookies! That's what you do as a dealership to keep people coming back!
Anyway, get this done if you haven't!
If you have been in a cave and don't know what I'm talking about, here is some of the text from the TSB:
"Some 2005-2006 Mustangs may exhibit a hesitation on acceleration after a long cruise. After coming to a stop from a highway type cruise, some vehicles may experience a hesitation when the customer begins to accelerate. Air bubbles can form around the fuel pump during a long cruise and be ingested into the pump on acceleration causing a hesitation."
