Default whipple h.o. and exhaust

if i were to buy the whipple h.o. , can i leave my exhaust stock except for my gta's? it's not that important that i get every litlle bit of h.p. out of it. i do have emissions test. or can i buy shorty headers and that would work out better than stock manifolds.

Just my opinion, but if your going to spend that money why wouldn't you get a full exhaust? And if you have emissions yes you'll need shorty headers. If your sucking all that air in it's got to get out somehow

yes.

i have that combination and the whipple
really makes the gta's come alive.

but like eagle said, at some point down the road
exhaust upgrading wouldn't hurt.

i have emmisions also and the whipple HO passed
with flying colors.

I have the "stock" exhaust (manifolds, CATS, etc) and it really is NOT necessary to have a full exhaust IMO as the Gen 2 Whipples (if that's what you have-I have the gen1) are very efficient and though I agree with Eagle that an upgrade down the road to shorties (at the very least-tuned length and ceramic coated) is better than stock -it is not necessary and you will pass with shorties or the stock exhaust.

I am going with shorties though the LT's would be more beneficial I just want a smoother flow with the tuned length and ceramic coating....get that heat out! I may get high flow CATS too....but so many mods so little money.....not allof us can have a forged and stroked motor....LOL

I knew I should of put my flame suit on I just can't see spending a few grand and not spending a few hundred to get the most out of it. To each his own and that's the big thing you hit on, heat. It's what will kill a motor.

And not all of us can have nice body kits and pretty superchargers

I am just giving you a hard time as I am envious of the motor you have and the power without FI.

My way is not necessarily the right way and I just wanted the OP to see different points of view.

In other words your response is relevant and noted but the OP just wanted to make sure he passed emissions.

I could only imagine the numbers I might put down with a full exhaust....hmmm less boost but more HP...thats always a great combination!

You know when the time comes I will be calling on you again for advise!
