How big are you going.... like I posted you have alot of room to grow with 8.5" rims.

hell i dont really know lol

this is me doing research

but seriously, i have no idea what tire size would be worth moving up to a wider wheel

and when i said torq trusts, i meant the shelby variety

the others look like crap, no offense

Honestly I think anything over 275's is overkill for a N/A S197. You will end up wearing out your clutch faster during spirited driving.

keep in mind i am eventually going to stroke it out to a 5.0 and a few other things, so figure something around 400 hp for the wheels

My vote though, like I suggested before, Is get some bands welded in. You could find someone local, maybe they would even offset your rear spokes, how sick would that look?

And let me know when that day comes with the 5.0, I've got connections

i will definitely let you know when i do the 5.0

i gotta run out my warranty first

is welding in a band really a good idea though? for everyday rims?

For the stock rims you have 255/45 would be fine. Gives you a a little more beef out back and it can be found easily. 265/40 isnt recommend for 8.5 inch rim but would fit and is smaller diameter. Why are you against the chrome so much?

I made it, um, a month and a half on the warranty thing. Still get warranty work done

And I've never heard any complaints, I've even seen drag racers do it, but I understand where you are coming from on the strength thing. I'd look into it as I'm no expert on it, but it'd be a lot better than trying to have one made for you. I have a feeling your like me and don't care to settle, I wouldn't buy a rim unless it's exactly what you want.

I'd say just go with another tire on the rim worse comes to worse, i'm running a 245/45/19 with no problems or complaints
