I'm looking into buying a hood and customizing it for myself. I've been looking around on craigslist and ebay and see some nice prices. Are the s197 V6 and GT hoods identical or is there something I should take into consideration that sets them apart? ANy help is appreciated...

They are all the same. U r in Florida so hit up Pascal. He might be close to you and have access to takeoff hoods. I have mine but Im a bit far out here in California.
