Default Vert top dead

After a whopping 2300 miles, my vert top crapped out, luckily it was in the up position. I checked the fuse for ithe top, under the hood and it was fine. I could hear the faint sound of the motor getting power, but the top would not go down. I dropped it offf at the stealership and am awaiting their call. Did any of you vert owners have any problems with your tops?

Update: The stealership just called, and the top motor is dead. If I am lucky, I will get it back by New Years Eve. I don't think that I could have used the top more then 20 times in the year and a half that I have had the car. Thank god the car is still under warranty.

If you wanted to diagnose the problem yourself...

"If you wanted to diagnose the problem yourself.."

I knew what the problem was, but I'm not going to fix it if it's under warranty. I told the service manager that the motor was shot. I could hear the motor was getting power, it just wasn't moving the top. I thought he was going to order one on Friday. Now he can't even order it till Monday, then 2 days once they get the motor. I guess they have to take the top out of the car to get to the motor. The worst part is that it's 80 degrees here in Tampa, and I'm off till Thursday, and I have no Vert, just the Caddy.

OUCH
Just posting a link in case someone in the future actually uses the
search function and your post popped up, it would have some sort
of link to help diagnose the problem.
Geeeze, some people.....

This is the first time I have seen a thread about the 05+ having that issue. Most have been about rattles or leaks.

The motor is in the trunk, remove the cardboard floor that covers the spare tire and its right behind the back seat. Look for scuffs on your back bumper from the techs feet when he is in your trunk.

The bastards better not leave any scuffs.

Me too, I couldn't believe it. I've had several older Vert mustangs, and never had a problem with the top.
