Oil changes
Yeah, I got ya. To me it makes no sense to raise your car "if it is not needed." It only takes me about 10 mins to change it, and most of the time is spent waiting for the oil to drain. With most cars you need to lift the car due to the oil filter location, but not with the stangs.
I picked Jan 1st to change the oil because it's the easiest for me to remember. I use stickers to remind me on my daily driver and change it every 5,000 miles (synthetic).
Ford's semi-synthetic and filters for me.
If your driving generally falls into one or more of the "Special Operating Conditions" listed in your Scheduled Maintenance Guide, you should be changing the oil and filter at 5000 mile / 6 month / 200 engine hour intervals, not the 7500 interval. Only occasional "S.O.C" driving does not require following the S.O.C schedule.
Unfortunately for many of the folks here, the owner's documentation does not specifically indicate which schedule that frequent high-rpm operation should follow. But my thoughts are that oil and filters are cheap, engines aren't, and I'll probably settle into changing it on average a bit before 5000 miles are up.
My other cars get Valvoline oil in the appropriate grade.
