Dyno Tune Questions

Dyno Tune Questions
Hey folks, I have a couple of questions about dyno tunes...
First, and I know this can vary, but how many RWHP can I expect to gain over my 91 Bama tune? I plan to get the car tuned later this year, after the C&L intake manifold comes out. So I'll have pretty much full bolt ons with cams (Hot Rods) and intake. I know I'll need a Dyno tune to get the most out of those cams.
Second, I was quoted a $400 flat rate from Greg at RET. I had hoped for a little less...what can I say, I'm a cheapskate. They have Dyno days every now and then, it would be cheaper to go then, yes?

You can expect to gain a little drivability and maybe a little hp out of the tune. My friend got a dyno tune and it made acceleration smoother than his email tune did.
As far as power it really depends how the tune is now on your car. For example some cars like timing and run a little richer A/F than others. My car for instance is maxed out with timing and as lean as I can go (13.5) with the Brenspeed tune, so a dyno tune wouldn't really help me as I can't see a tuner being able to pull anything else out of the car.
However if your car is at 12.7 A/F and could handle more timing the dyno tune would be worth it and add some more power.
Lastly they don't do any tuning on a dyno day, just pulls to measure hp though it's fun and worth it....I recently hit one up-they have good deals!
