Default Spark Plug TSB and Warranty

I have almost 47K on my car and have yet to do the spark plug TSB. I called two dealers and asked about the TSB and both told me that the only replace the spark plugs if the car needs the plugs to replaced; the car needs to produce problems caused by faulty spark plugs. Does this sound correct? I was under the impression that they (ford) replaced the spark plugs regardless of having problems or not.

I think they are correct. The plugs are good for 100K supposedly so any replacement earlier would be totally your choice and not considered normal warranty work

that sounds about right

just park your car someplace close by the dealership and try to do it yourself

if you break a plug, you can then push it to the dealership and have them finish it off ! joking aside,

follow the TSB to the letter and you should be fine

Good luck !

that sucks. i wish they would just replace them and get it over with, like a massive recall or something.

I might just wait until I go and return from deployment in Sep or Oct before worrying about the spark-plugs. My car is running fine.

Either that or, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." The sooner you get these things out and back in properly (i.e. with anti-freeze), the better. Wait till 100,000 and you'll be paying thousands of dollars to take apart your heads. Not smart, and in this case, not great advice.

True, the plugs are good for 100k, but with all cars, you do have to periodically break them free and clean them up a bit.

If its a weekend driver that gets less than 10K a year on it, chances are there will be carbon buildup goin on in the cylinder head.
