Default Strut Mounts

I heard on another forum that when you receive the upgraded strut mounts to help quiet down the front end noises that the bolts that stick up through the bracket are supposed to be gold in color. Can anyone confirm this? I was told that my strut mounts were replaced but they are NOT gold, they are regular metal colored and my car is still very noisy. I'm beginning to question whether the dealer even replaced them at all.

You should not get a bunch of unneccesary noise from the front end w/ new struts. If you are getting squeaking, popping, creeking, etc. noises from the front end most likely the when the strut mounts were removed to install new struts some of the bearings were lost, not alinged properly or crushed. To me it almost sounds like you are still using the stock mounts and that someone screwed up the install.

The GT500 upper strut mounts have green studs, I put some on. They quieted down the low speed cracking and popping (ex backing out of the driveway) They did not however stop the clunking when hitting a bump at low speeds (ex hitting a small bump @ 10 mph)

I just read another post about this a page down. I didn't realize people were having problems with their stock strut mounts w/o ever removing them to replace the struts. I guess my previous post might be only one factor in a more complex situation.
